Most residents own their homes in Belleair. Of course, there are only about 3,900 of us, but, who’s counting? We don’t tend to leave once we get here either. Retirees make up a good portion of our family-oriented community. Home maintenance is important if we’re settling in for the long haul. Even though window replacement is on the high end of home maintenance projects, the benefits you reap make them a worthwhile investment.
Of course, many Florida residents decide window replacement is a good idea for the added storm protection. Impact, or hurricane resistant, windows are built to take a punch. The debris slammed into the windows during the storm won’t cause them to fly apart. If you imagine your family ducking for cover as glass and debris go flying, the safety feature in that goes without saying.
Other benefits
Replacing your windows with impact windows is definitely worth the investment if a hurricane heads our way. However, these windows prove themselves valuable 24/7.
Deters a break-in
Storm-tossed debris and the occasional baseball aren’t the only times a window’s threatened with impact.
Intruders consider windows to be the easiest entry point. They may even risk an alarm sensor on the inside pane thinking they’ll be in and out long before the police arrive. The alarm will begin to sound all right. However, instead of entering your home to loot it in record time, the intruder will be scurrying away when your windows repel the attack.
Green machines
Technically, the opening and closing mechanism of a window does make it a machine. And, the Energy Star rating of our impact windows definitely qualifies them as green. Impact windows do an excellent job of blocking airflow. Subsequently, your home stays cooler and your a/c will catch a break. Not only that, you’ll notice the savings on your utility bill for sure.
Noise reduction
Normally, the words “impact” and “quiet” don’t fit together well. That’s not the case if your window replacement involves upgrading to impact windows. They reduce outside noise, in fact, they may completely eliminate it. You’ll be able to relax free of being distracted by what’s going on outside.
UV protection
The sun can do a number on our stuff, can’t it? It’s a disappointing day, indeed, when we discover sun-faded furniture or carpets. Hopefully, you didn’t get stuck with a two-tone decor. However, if you just shrugged and went with it because it’s bound to happen again, you might soon be shopping for more than windows! Impact windows provide excellent UV protection.
Why choose Reece Windows & Doors?
We understand the value that impact windows afford our customers so every window we make is impact resistant. We manufacture them ourselves using tempered glass and a sheet of high-tech polymer. The polymer sheet sandwiched between the panes of tempered glass dramatically increases the strength of the window unit. Reece Windows & Doors are built to meet the FBCs (Florida Building Code) strict standards. They undergo debris testing that involves cannons, steel ball bearings, and 9 pound 2x4s. Once passing the debris tests, windows go on to test for resistance to wind and rain likened to that of a hurricane.

FAQs
I heard window replacement can save money on my homeowners’ insurance. Is that true?
Possibly. Some insurance agencies offer discounts for added storm protection. Reece Windows & Doors certainly fit that bill. Check with your agent and see if you qualify.
How long will a window replacement job take?
That’s going to depend on a few things. How many windows we’ll be replacing, of course. Also, we need to know the layout of your home. Is it one-story or more? Are you popping in the same size window? Are you going with wood or vinyl? All of these things help us gauge the amount of time the install will take. We’ll get it all figured out for you.
Do you make a mess of my home?
No, we don’t. Well, maybe a little, but we clean up and leave everything just as we found it.
Do you get there when you say you will?
Yes, indeed. We appreciate your business. The least we can do is show up on time. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, such as the weather, we’ll let you know the circumstances as soon as we do. And, we’ll reschedule for a time that’s convenient for you.
What do we need to do before you arrive?
It helps us a lot if you remove the furniture from the work areas. You don’t need to get it out of the room, just shove it to the side. It’s also helpful if you remove the window treatments, any alarm sensors, and wall décor near the work areas.
