Owning a home near the Florida coast doesn’t have many drawbacks, but two came to mind—hurricanes and salt erosion. Window replacement protects you from both. The blistering sun came in a close third by the way. Did you realize that replacing your windows provides UV protection too?
Actually, new windows offer many benefits that make them a worthwhile investment.
Impact resistance
Impact, or hurricane, windows keep your family better protected during severe storms containing high winds. They’re rated for performance according to the guidelines set by the Florida Building Codes. Window units undergo testing for impact, wind, and rain resistance. If the unit survives the tests intact, it earns the seal of approval.
Reece windows consistently pass those tests. We manufacture our windows using tempered glass to create the panes. It breaks differently than “normal” glass. Instead of shattering on impact sending shards and fragments flying in all directions, it crumbles into tiny rounded pellets.
Of course, propelled with the strength of a hurricane behind them, even tiny pellets inflict serious injury. That’s why we insert a sheet of polymer between the panes of glass. This high tech material absorbs the impact of wind-bourne debris and because we adhere it to the glass itself, the window remains intact.
They’ve met their match
We’re certain that impact windows better protect your home and family during hurricane season—they’re all we make. However, the protection feature doesn’t stop there. They stand guard against break-ins every day of the year. Your family will be far less likely to ever experience the anxiety that accompanies knowing that someone has been in your home.
More efficient
We lose a lot of energy due to inefficient windows. Even if your windows were the cutting edge when they were installed, if they’re ten years old or older, replacing them is going to make your home more energy-efficient. The polymer sheet does a great job of blocking airflow. Moreover, our vinyl frames seal tightly against your home blocking airflow and moisture. Your comfort level increases and your energy bill decreases. There’s nothing better than that!
Protect against sun-fade
Impact windows provide UV protection for your belongings. They effectively block over 90% of the sun’s harmful ultra-violet rays. Never again will you realize that a certain area of your furniture or carpet doesn’t appear a different shade due to bad lighting but sun-fade instead.
No more noise
We rarely consider the overall environment when house hunting. We seem oblivious to street noise, neighbors, or barking dogs when falling in love with a home—after the fact, however— Impact windows do an amazing job at muffling or possibly eliminating outside noise. Sleep in! Take that long overdue nap! Whatever’s going on outside is staying out there.
You might catch a break
Did you know that homeowners in Florida pay nearly three times as much for homeowners’ insurance than the rest of the nation? Sad, but true. Many insurance companies offer premium discounts for added storm protection. They might do the same for added security. When you install our windows, you might qualify for both! Check with your representative to see if they offer lower rates.

FAQs
Will you need someone to be home on the day of my window replacement?
Yes, we will. Our installers need to access both the inside and outside of your home. We think it’s best if an adult that lives in the home is there as well. In fact, it’s company policy. You’ll want to be available to answer any unforeseen questions that may arise.
What should I do before you get there?
We appreciate your willingness to help! It would be great if you remove window treatments and alarm sensors from the windows. Also, you can create a clear path to the work area by pushing any furniture to the side.
Do you show up when you say you will?
Yes, we do! We realize your time is valuable and we appreciate you for choosing Reece to handle your window replacement. The least we can do is arrive on time!
In the event of an unforeseen circumstance—as in the weather—that prevents us from working, you’ll know as soon as we do.
