It is beautiful here in Indian Rocks Beach. We may be considered a tiny town in the big picture, but our spectacular beachfront makes it a popular tourist destination. Whether you live here year-round or rent your home to families looking for the best spot to vacation, proper home maintenance ensures your home will stand strong for years to come. Window replacement is at the high end of home maintenance expenses, however, the benefits new windows provide make them well worth the investment.

We live at the beach so, of course, anything we do that adds storm protection may prove invaluable one day. Conversely, we live at the beach and the salt in the air is hard on everything, including our windows and casings.

In fact, it’s recommended that we wash the exterior of our homes three or four times a year to rid them of salt accumulation. However, not all of us find the time to get that accomplished.

Many homeowners choose window replacement to upgrade to impact-resistant windows. These shatter-proof windows can take whatever the wind hurls at them. To earn a hurricane resistant rating as set by the FBC (Florida Building Code), the entire window unit is put through rigorous testing.

Storm protection

If the window survives the impact of a 9 pound 2×4 shot from a cannon with enough force to cover fifty feet per second, it moves on. Next, it must survive steel ball bearings (or gravel near the same size and weight) slamming into it simultaneously. The windows can crack but must remain intact.

Once completing the debris tests, technicians test the window for its wind and water resistance. How well the window survived overall determines the rating received.

Other benefits

If impact resistant windows increase your home’s hurricane protection, they will also provide your family with protection against a potential break-in. Intruders consider a window to be easy access. They may even risk getting in and out before the police arrive if they see an alarm sensor on the window. They won’t stick around when the alarm goes off after their break-in attempt is met with a dull thud rather than crashing glass.

Hurricanes are rare, but our hot, steamy weather isn’t. Window replacement costs begin to pay for themselves immediately in energy savings. They’re extremely energy efficient. You’ll see a reduction in your utility costs to prove it.

The sun doesn’t just heat things up around here. Its damaging UV rays can fade window treatments, furniture, and everything else. Window replacement provides excellent UV protection. It increases the life of your stuff without having to hide it from the sun.

Noisey neighbors? Replacing your windows with impact resistant windows insulates your ears. These windows muffle outside sounds or even eliminate them entirely leaving you free to relax or maybe even sleep in without interference.

How they’re made

Here, at Reece, all of our windows are impact resistant.

We manufacture them using panels of tempered glass. We adhere the glass to either side of a sheet of high-tech polymer. It doesn’t impair your view in the least, but the polymer sheet makes these windows as indestructible as they come.

Why choose Reece?

Reece Builders / Windows, Inc. is a family-owned business.

Established in 1972 by Michael Reece, Sr., his son, Randy runs the business now. He grew up in the business and saw for himself that his father’s simple plan to provide well-built windows and doors that last a lifetime at an affordable cost worked.

Reece keeps up with the latest technology and newest installation techniques. All of our employees are in-house. That means we don’t hire independent contractors for installation, we do the job ourselves. It ensures that our windows are installed to meet our high standards.

Our customer team is in-house too. When you contact us, you’ll be talking to us and not a third-party agency.

We understand the value our employees bring to the company and do all we can to let them know how much we appreciate them. When employees feel a part of the company, they commit to doing their best. That means our customers can expect to be treated with courtesy and respect from the moment we meet through our follow-up about a week after installation.

When our customers realize the exceptional service and amazing quality of our windows, they can’t help but share the news with family and friends. As far as we’re concerned word of mouth is the best advertising method.

If you’re considering window replacement and have any questions not found below, contact us. We’ll be happy to answer them for you.

FAQs

Does Reece provide a guarantee?

Yes, we do. We guarantee our windows and doors to last a lifetime!

I have pretty small windows. Can’t I just DIY it?

We’d rather you didn’t. Window replacement can get dangerous. Working on a ladder puts you at a higher risk of an accident. Not to mention the added risk of removing the old windows while being on the ladder. It’s probably best to sit back and envision the outcome and let our team take care of the job. Besides, installation is part of the Lifetime Guarantee. If we don’t install your windows, we can’t guarantee the work which in turn voids your guarantee.

Do you really show up when you say you will?

We realize that your time is valuable. We’re committed to arriving when we say we will and completing the job as quickly and efficiently as possible. If an unforeseen circumstance, such as the weather, makes installation impossible, we’ll notify you as soon as we become aware of it and reschedule for a time that’s convenient for you.

Can my teenager let you in?

Well, they can greet us at the door, but we require an adult family member to be at home while we install your new windows. Since we need to be inside your home, we feel it’s best if you’re there too.

What do I do before you arrive?

It would be a big help if you remove furniture, wall decor, window treatments, and alarm sensors before we get there. This allows our crew to get right to work. We’ll clean up and leave everything as we found it when we finish.
