If they’ve been in your home for a decade or longer, it might be time to think about replacement windows. Continued advancements in technology have made windows extremely energy-efficient. In fact, consumers report up to 30% less energy use after installing impact windows.

Of course, there are other factors to take into account when determining your overall energy use. However, whatever the percentage winds up being for your home, your comfort level is definitely increasing.

Many homeowners are looking for ways to make their homes eco-friendly. Conserving our energy use is one way to markedly decrease the carbon footprint that we leave behind.

#1 Reason

The main reason that Floridians install replacement windows is for added storm protection. Hurricane windows are rated for impact resistance. They must meet or exceed the regulations put in place by the FBC (Florida Building Code) to qualify.

  • Large missile test—This test involves firing a 6 foot, 9 pound 2×4 directly at the window. It strikes end on and though the glass may crack, the 2×4 can’t penetrate the window.
  • Small missile test—Steel ball bearings hurtle through the air after being simultaneously ejected from a cannon. They strike the window full force and, again, the window must remain intact.
  • Wind and rain resistance—If the window passes the missile tests, it goes on to test for wind and water resistance.

Impact windows definitely provide more storm protection for your family.

When a home’s windows go, the force of the wind rushes in full strength. It rises upward and once in the attic, it begins to force its way through every tiny means of escape. Meanwhile, pressure builds inside your home as the storm pushes against your roof from the outside. The combined force can lift your roof from your home causing a catastrophic result.

Additional benefits

While increasing your hurricane protection may be the #1 reason you’ve decided it’s time for window replacement, they offer homeowners year-around benefits.

  • Break-in protection—There’s less chance that you’ll fall victim to a break-in. Would-be intruders aren’t likely to stick around if their attempt to shatter the window for easy access is stopped short.
  • Energy-efficient—Reece Windows & Doors increase your home’s energy efficiency. Your comfort level increases and your energy use decreases.
  • UV protection—Faded furniture, carpets, and other possessions become a thing of the past. Our windows block over 90% of the sun’s damaging UV rays.
  • Noise reduction—Impact windows muffle the amount of outside noise that makes its way inside your home. It may even eliminate it entirely! Just imagine—no more barking dogs in the middle of the night!
  • Reduced homeowner’s insurance—We pay more for insurance than anywhere else in the nation. Many insurance companies offer reduced policy rates for added storm protection. Contact your representative to see if you qualify.

If your windows show signs of damage, allow hot air to waft through them over the summer—when they’re closed, or you’re simply ready for an upgrade, the overall value replacement windows provide make them a worthy investment.

How are they made?

We manufacture our windows using tempered glass rather than ordinary glass. It breaks into tiny rounded pellets rather than shattering and sending shards and slivers flying in every direction. To keep the pellets from becoming ammunition for the storm, we insert a sheet of high-tech polymer between the panes of glass.

The polymer absorbs the impact of anything that strikes the window stopping it from coming through. Furthermore, because the glass attaches to the polymer, your window doesn’t come apart.

Even our vinyl frames hold together no matter what! We use a heat welding process which melds the separate pieces of the frame into one solid piece.

Reece Builders / Windows, Inc.

We’ve been a family-owned business since opening our doors back in 1972. Michael Reece, Sr. founded the company intending to provide his customers with high-quality windows and doors built to last a lifetime. He added providing excellent customer service to the business plan too. In short, he stressed to employees that we treat people the way we’d like for people to treat us.

When customers are provided with an exceptional product and are treated exceptionally well in the process, they’re going to want to tell people about it!

As a matter of fact, word of mouth accounts for a large percentage of our customers. People remember the kind words of the one who shared the Reece experience and call us for their new windows and doors.

As a matter of fact, we believe that’s how Reece Builders / Windows has become one of the leading manufacturers in Palm Beach Gardens and the surrounding area.

Randy Reece oversees the company now, but he hasn’t changed the way Reece does business. Reece employees strive to make sure you realize our ultimate goal is your complete satisfaction. Your installers train in-house and expertly and efficiently install your windows for you.

Can I install my new windows myself?

We’d rather you didn’t, actually. Window installation can be dangerous. Moreover, if the window isn’t installed correctly, you’re going to have mechanical problems down the road.

Besides, we guarantee our workmanship in your Double Lifetime Guarantee. You won’t want to void that!

Do I need to be home?

Yes. We require that an adult that lives in the home be present during the installation process.

Do you dispose of the old windows?

Yes, we take the old windows and any other debris with us when we leave. You won’t even know we’ve been there—with the exception of those awesome new windows of course!

What do I need to do before you come?

If you’ll remove your window treatments and alarm sensors from the windows, temporarily remove any wall decorations that might jostle free due to vibrations in the wall, and push the furniture from in front of the windows, that would be great!

Thanks for asking! We’ll see you soon.
